I have been working with clay for over 20 years and have experimented with a full range of clay bodies and glazes during classes at the DeCordova Museum and the former Radcliffe Studio. I am very grateful to have known and learned from Makoto Yabe when he was teaching.
Most of my work is now done in low-fire white or terracotta. I prefer to color the clay body itself or smoke-fire pieces, sometimes using oxides and glaze for flashes of color. Glazed surfaces on my dinnerware are all food-safe.
Throughout my ceramic career I have also taught students from age 4 to 40+. Currently I direct the Ceramics Program and teach classes at the German International School Boston in Allston.
